Professors Seong Byung-chan and Kwak Il-yeop of our department have been selected for the 2026 Basic Research Program (Type A) and the Leap (Do-yak) Program, respectively, both funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT and administered by the National Research Foundation of Korea.

Professor Seong Byung-chan has been selected for a Core Research (Type A) project titled “A Study on Spatiotemporal Hierarchical Time Series Models.” He will receive approximately KRW 400 million in research funding over a five-year period from March 2026 to February 2031.

Professor Kwak Il-yeop has been selected for a Leap Program project titled “Next-Generation Forgery Detection AI Models and Foundation Models.” He will receive approximately KRW 480 million in research funding over a three-year period from March 2026 to February 2029.
